2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) enhances account security by requiring a second verification step (SMS, TOTP, or Passkey) in addition to your login password. After enabling 2FA, CoinEx will require secondary verification for sensitive actions such as logins, withdrawals, or changes to security settings, to ensure account safety.
1. Access
💻Go to CoinEx’s official website (https://www.coinex.com), click your [Profile Icon], select [Security Settings], then go to [Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)].
2. 3 Types of 2FA Tools
CoinEx supports 2FA via Mobile, TOTP, and Passkey.
📲Mobile
⚠️ SMS verification may be unstable due to network or carrier issues.
We recommend enabling TOTP or Passkey for stronger and more reliable security.
Click [Mobile] - [Set], verify your email to start binding your mobile number.
Select your country/region code, enter your phone number, complete the verification process, and submit the SMS code to finish binding.
⏰ TOTP
We recommend using TOTP apps like Google Authenticator to generate dynamic verification codes.
Click [TOTP Authentication] - [Set], then verify your email.
Open Google Authenticator, tap the “+” in the lower right to scan the QR code,
or select “Enter a setup key” and enter your account and 32‑character key manually.
Enter the 6‑digit code from Google Authenticator and click [Next] to complete the binding.
🎟️ Passkey
A Passkey is a safer and more convenient verification method that replaces traditional passwords or codes. Simply verify your identity using your biometrics (fingerprint, face ID) or other devices — easy and secure.
Click [Passkey] - [Manage] - [Add], then verify your email to start binding.
Click [Create Passkey], and follow the on‑screen instructions to complete setup.
3. Security Tips
(1) If you’ve already bound Mobile and TOTP, you can also enable Passkey for stronger protection.
(2) Passkey and TOTP are the recommended 2FA options for both security and convenience.
(3) CoinEx DOES NOT back up user keys. Please store your 32‑digit TOTP key offline.
